So, a bit more about Kev; Kevin is more than a steel gravel bike. 

With the ability to run different sized tyres (650b & 700c) and whole lot of mounting options, there’s never been a more versatile bike for mixed terrain cycling. Here at G!RO, we call Kevin the Swiss army knife of bikes. You'll get a frameset fit for purpose in a variety of situations, and everytime you change his tires around, you can end up with a completely new bike. When running the 700c wheels, Kevin loves a stroll on the beach or racing round the local fire roads, as well as long days on the road, touring OR do some CX racing. In 650B ‘party mode’, he's always up an adventure, like challenging mountain bike terrain, trail riding, bikepacking, and multiday touring in the wilderness.

Kevin now comes in two new and exciting colours: Handsome Blue & Hero Green.

Magnificent and menacing, Kevin fears nothing and will take you places you didn't even know you wanted to go.

The frames are constructed with lightweight and durable Italian Columbus Zona steel frame, which when paired with the carbon GXR Seek fork has been proven the world over! Piloted by Jimmy Ashby, for example, riding 39,100km through 32 countries; Kevin was a 3rd place finisher in the 2019 Race to the Rock, ridden by Barrie Mead and utilising 650b wheels and 2.2” mountain bike tyres; and the between the entire Curve crew Kevin's have explored everywhere from, New Zealand to Switzerland, Swaziland to Cuba, and many nations in between!

ITALIAN STEEL

Curve chose Columbus Zona Italian-made double-butted tubing for the main frame triangle. Zona gives a great and reasonable compromise between weight, strength and lifespan of the frame.

TWO FOR ONE

Clearance for two types of wheel is what makes Kevin so versatile. Pick a set to suit your riding style... Can't decide, pick 2 and have a bike for all occasions! You can run 700c wheels with anything from 28mm road tires to 45mm mud slingers for Road, Gravel and Cyclocross... Alternatively, go full "Party Mode" with 650b (27.5”) wheels, where you can choose anything between 1.8–2.2” mountain bike tires, for shredding the gnar. Both sound appealing, double up on wheelsets for the ultimate versatile steed!

NO WEIRD FLEX

The custom 4130 cro-mo steel yoke design allows Kevin to run some super wide gravel tyres in two wheel sizes, and also stiffens the BB area to avoid frame flex under load.

ADVENTURE READY

Load him up and he'll be stoked. Kevin loves a bikepacking adventure and is chomping at the bit for a multiday tour. He has rear rack mounts, fender mounts & THREE bidon mounts!! Chuck on a 1x or 2x drivetrain, depending on your plans, along with selecting from the multitude of wheel and tire options. All onboard the longer wheelbase making for a stable cruising platform. Kevin is perfect for day trips, weekenders and multi-day bikepacking.

KEVIN IS NOT QUITE LIKE OTHER BIKES

Kev's geo is a little longer and a little taller to create more space for frame packs and big bidons for the adventurers out there. For the smaller frames (XS,SM) Kevin of Steel III features a sloping top tube to allow for more standover height, and drop the bidon cage mounts to allow space for frame-bags. As a guide, Medium Kev is the equivalent size to a standard 54cm frame. However, Kevin is optimised to be ridden with a shorter stem and wider drop bars to make him a handling expert when terrain gets tricky.
