Thats right, the Esher High Street Festival is back, and its bigger and better! Following form the success of the the inaugural Festival in 2015, and subsequent years, we are back this year to celebrate The Ride 100 Cycle Event on Sunday August 4th. We are looking forward to seeing the local community turned out in force to cheer on all the cyclists taking part in the Ride London event, and see what the Festival has to offer!
We have plenty of stalls and activities for all the family to get involved with. From Bikes to Beers to BBQs, we have stands from plenty of local businesses including Sandown Sports Club, Pilates Esher, plus G!RO will be serving Coffees and Cakes all day! and of course we will have our favourite face painter back!
So come one down and be a part of this great day!
Throughout the day, the Ride 100 public race filters down the high street with nearly 26000 take part - from super keen, super quick amateurs to those riding for charities.
Finally in the afternoon, Some of the world's top professional cyclists racing in the Surrey Classic pro race, will be streaming down Esher High street on route to the finish on Pall Mall in Central London, having just finished the challenging climbs of the Surrey Hills. Last year saw Team Sky's very own Geraint Thomas, lead the pack as riders put on quite a show for the Esher masses! Race Director Mick Bennett usually stops by for a take away coffee from G!RO delivered right to his car!!
As ever, we've organised a big screen to be broadcasting all day so you can soak up all the racing and action even before it reaches Esher and watch the race after it's flashed past and watch the final few KMs unfold with a beer. Last year, saw a furious tempo set as they flew through Esher, with the big German sprinter Pascal Ackermann taking the bunch sprint convincingly in Pall Mall. The stage is set for more full gas action this year!!
